Web - DnD 5e stats

Web

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Classes: Sorcerer, Wizard
  • Components: V S M
  • Concentration: Yes
  • Duration: Up to 1 hour
  • Level: 2
  • Material: A bit of spiderweb
  • Name: Web
  • Range: 60 feet
  • School: Conjuration
  • Target: A point of your choice within range

You conjure a mass of thick, sticky webbing at a point of your choice within range. The webs fill a 20-foot cube from that point for the duration. The webs are difficult terrain and lightly obscure their area.

If the webs aren't anchored between two solid masses (such as walls or trees) or layered across a floor, wall, or ceiling, the conjured web collapses on itself, and the spell ends at the start of your next turn. Webs layered over a flat surface have a depth of 5 feet.

Each creature that starts its turn in the webs or that enters them during its turn must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is restrained as long as it remains in the webs or until it breaks free.

A creature restrained by the webs can use its actions to make a Strength check against your spell save DC. If it succeeds, it is no longer restrained.

The webs are flammable. Any 5-foot cube of webs exposed to fire burns away in 1 round, dealing 2d4 fire damage to any creature that starts its turn in the fire.

The SendingStone review

The spell "Web" is a level 2 spell available to sorcerers and wizards that creates a sticky web-like substance over an area of up to 20 feet in diameter. It requires verbal, somatic, and material components, specifically a bit of spiderweb. The spell has a casting time of one action and lasts for up to one hour with concentration.

Overall, this spell is useful for restricting enemies' movements and preventing them from getting too close to the caster. However, it does not deal any damage and can be burned away with a torch or similar flame. It may be most effective in tight spaces or against melee-focused enemies. It's important to note that the material component of spiderweb may not always be easy to come by. Overall, the utility of Web as a control spell in combat makes it a valuable addition to a sorcerer or wizard's arsenal.

Web is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Web Pathfinder edition. Want to use Web in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
