You touch a creature that has been dead for no longer than 200 years and that died for any reason except old age. If the creature's soul is free and willing, the creature is restored to life with all its hit points.
This spell closes all wounds, neutralizes any poison, cures all diseases, and lifts any curses affecting the creature when it died. The spell replaces damaged or missing organs or limbs.
The spell can even provide a new body if the original no longer exists, in which case you must speak the creature's name. The creature then appears in an unoccupied space you choose within 10 feet of you.
The #True Resurrection spell is considered by many to be one of the most powerful spells in Dungeons & Dragons. This spell allows a Cleric or Druid to bring a dead creature back to life, regardless of how long they have been dead. The spell has a casting time of 1 hour and requires costly components, including holy water and diamonds worth at least 25,000 gp.
Some argue that this spell takes away from the consequences of death in the game, as it allows players to simply resurrect fallen comrades without much consequence. Others believe that it enhances the story by giving players a chance to bring an important character back to life and continue their journey together.
Regardless of one's opinion, it is important to note that using the #True Resurrection spell should not be taken lightly and should only be used when it makes sense for the story and the characters involved.
True Resurrection is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a True Resurrection Pathfinder edition. Want to use True Resurrection in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
