You briefly stop the flow of time for everyone but yourself. No time passes for other creatures, while you take 1d4+1 turns in a row, during which you can use actions and move as normal.
This spell ends if one of the actions you use during this period, or any effects that you create during this period, affects a creature other than you or an object being worn or carried by someone other than you. In addition, the spell ends if you move to a place more than 1,000 feet from the location where you cast it.
Time Stop is a powerful spell in Dungeons and Dragons that allows the caster to freeze time for themselves for a brief period. It is a level 9 Transmutation spell available to Sorcerers and Wizards. While it has a casting time of only 1 action, its potential to set up strategic actions in combat or escape dangerous situations is immense. However, the spell also has limitations. It cannot be used to harm anyone during the frozen period, and it only affects the caster, so any allies or enemies would still be active. Overall, Time Stop is a highly valuable spell that can be a game-changer in the right hands.
Time Stop is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Time Stop Pathfinder edition. Want to use Time Stop in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
