You manifest a minor wonder, a sign of supernatural power, within range. You create one of the following magical effects within range.
• Your voice booms up to three times as loud as normal for 1 minute.
• You cause flames to flicker, brighten, dim, or change color for 1 minute.
• You cause harmless tremors in the ground for 1 minute.
• You create an instantaneous sound that originates from a point of your choice within range, such as a rumble of thunder, the cry of a raven, or ominous whispers.
• You instantaneously cause an unlocked door or window to fly open or slam shut.
• You alter the appearance of your eyes for 1 minute.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its 1-minute effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
Thaumaturgy is a level 0 spell in the transmutation school that allows clerics to perform minor feats of magic such as creating a booming voice, causing flames to flicker, or opening unlocked doors from a distance of up to 30 feet. While some may view this spell as insignificant due to its limited potential, it can be very useful in certain situations such as intimidating enemies or creating distractions. Additionally, the fact that it only requires a verbal component and has no material or somatic components makes it easy to cast. Overall, Thaumaturgy may not be the flashiest spell in a cleric's arsenal, but it can be a useful tool in a variety of scenarios.
Thaumaturgy is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Thaumaturgy Pathfinder edition. Want to use Thaumaturgy in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
