Sting: Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 1 piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 9 Constitution saving throw, taking 4 (1d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Scorpions, while dangerous in real life, are not particularly impressive or challenging creatures in the context of Dungeons and Dragons. With low stats across the board, a pitiful challenge rating of 0, and only one attack option that isn't even that strong, a scorpion is little more than a nuisance for low-level characters. However, their natural armor and passive perception do give them some slight defensive capabilities, though they are still easily dispatched by any competent adventurer. In short, while scorpions may be flavorful additions to a dungeon setting, they are not monsters to be feared or respected.
Scorpion is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Scorpion Pathfinder edition. Want to use Scorpion in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
