A willing creature you touch is imbued with bravery. Until the spell ends, the creature is immune to being frightened and gains temporary hit points equal to your spellcasting ability modifier at the start of each of its turns. When the spell ends, the target loses any remaining temporary hit points from this spell.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.
The spell Heroism is a popular choice among bards and paladins for its ability to provide temporary hit points and immunity to fear. However, some argue that the spell's concentration requirement limits its usefulness in combat. Additionally, the fact that it only affects one target, and must be cast on the target by the caster, can make it difficult to use effectively in larger battles. Despite these limitations, Heroism remains a valuable tool for boosting the survivability and confidence of a single ally.
Heroism is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Heroism Pathfinder edition. Want to use Heroism in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
