You blast the mind of a creature that you can see within range, attempting to shatter its intellect and personality. The target takes 4d6 psychic damage and must make an Intelligence saving throw.

On a failed save, the creature's Intelligence and Charisma scores become 1. The creature can't cast spells, activate magic items, understand language, or communicate in any intelligible way. The creature can, however, identify its friends, follow them, and even protect them.

At the end of every 30 days, the creature can repeat its saving throw against this spell. If it succeeds on its saving throw, the spell ends.

The spell can also be ended by greater restoration, heal or wish.

The SendingStone review

Feeblemind is a powerful 8th level spell available to several spellcasting classes in Dungeons and Dragons. The spell requires verbal, somatic, and material components and can instantly reduce an intelligent creature's mental abilities to those of a simpleton. The material component for the spell is a handful of clay, crystal, glass, or mineral spheres.

Many players consider Feeblemind to be a potentially game-breaking spell due to its ability to render powerful enemies effectively useless with a single casting. However, others believe that it can be balanced by its limited range, requiring the caster to be within 150 feet of their target, and the potential saving throw that may allow the target to resist the spell's effects.

Overall, the use of Feeblemind in a game depends heavily on the individual DM's tolerance for powerful magic and the role it plays in their campaign. While it can be a powerful tool for players, it can also be frustrating for DMs who want to challenge their players in other ways.
