Charge: If the elk moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a target and then hits it with a ram attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Ram: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Hooves: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one prone creature. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
The #Elk, a creature from the popular tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons, has a challenge rating of 1/4 and is unaligned in its alignment. It has average scores in Dexterity and Charisma, but is particularly strong with a score of 16 in Strength. Its Constitution is also above average at 12. With a total of 13 hit points, it is not particularly durable. Its Intelligence score is only 2, which makes it an animal with no capacity for complex thoughts or communication. It has a passive perception of 10.
As a Large creature, the Elk can cover greater distances than a human on foot, but it has no particular advantage in close quarters combat. Its attacks are limited to a single "hooves" attack, which does not deal a great deal of damage. While the Elk might pose a threat to low-level adventurers, it is easily dispatched by more experienced and powerful characters. In terms of roleplaying, the Elk is a suitable creature to populate forests, providing a source of food and possibly being an obstacle to be overcome by those travelling through the wilderness.
Elk is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Elk Pathfinder edition. Want to use Elk in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
