You touch a willing creature to grant it the ability to see in the dark. For the duration, that creature has darkvision out to a range of 60 feet.
Darkvision is a useful spell for enhancing a character's night vision, but it has its limitations. It allows a character to see in complete darkness up to 60 feet, but it does not grant the ability to see through magical darkness. Some might argue that the spell is best suited for characters who frequently engage in underground or nocturnal exploration, such as druids and rangers. However, others might argue that the spell is not necessary for characters who already possess night vision, such as tieflings and half-elves. Despite its limitations, Darkvision can be a valuable tool in certain situations, allowing characters to navigate dark environments with ease and potentially avoid dangerous obstacles or creatures.
Darkvision is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Darkvision Pathfinder edition. Want to use Darkvision in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
