Cultists swear allegiance to dark powers such as elemental princes, demon lords, or archdevils. Most conceal their loyalties to avoid being ostracized, imprisoned, or executed for their beliefs. Unlike evil acolytes, cultists often show signs of insanity in their beliefs and practices.
Dark Devotion: The cultist has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
Scimitar: Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) slashing damage.
The Cultist is a weak and low-level enemy in Dungeons and Dragons, boasting only a Challenge Rating of 1/8. However, they make for great filler enemies in larger battles or can serve as the beginning of a larger story arc involving a menacing cult. Their stats are mediocre, with average abilities across the board, but their alignment as any Non-good Alignment makes them potentially dangerous foes. Overall, the Cultist is a useful and versatile addition to any dungeon master's roster of enemies.
Cultist is D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) 5th edition content, but other TTRPGs may have their own version such as a Cultist Pathfinder edition. Want to use Cultist in a VTT (virtual tabletop)? Try out SendingStone for free today!
