The SendingStone review

The Burning Hands spell is a classic fire-based spell in Dungeons and Dragons that is commonly used by sorcerers and wizards. At a base level, the spell does a significant amount of damage (3d6) to any creature within a 15ft cone in front of the caster. The spell has a casting time of 1 action and only requires verbal and somatic components, making it easy to cast in the midst of combat. However, the spell does not last beyond its instantaneous duration, so there are no lingering effects or benefits once the spell has been cast.

Overall, many players find Burning Hands to be a useful spell early on in the game due to its high damage output and ease of use. However, it does have some limitations, particularly as players get to higher levels and encounter tougher enemies with fire-resistant or fire-immune traits. Additionally, there are other spells that offer similar effects but with additional benefits, such as the Scorching Ray spell, which can target multiple creatures and scales well with spell level. Ultimately, the Burning Hands spell is a solid choice for players looking for a straightforward way to deal significant damage to multiple targets.
